stingray cityIf you’re planning a trip to Jamaica, chances are you’re up for a party. Jamaica offers plenty of things to do and see to visitors, beyond just lying on the beach drinking adult beverages with those little umbrellas. If you’re getting ready to go to Jamaica, make sure you’ve got your reservations, your travel insurance and your flight in order, and start thinking about some of these cool activities:

  1. Swim with the fishes. Get yourself to somewhere like Dolphin Cove over in Ocho Rios. Here you can literally swim with dolphins. If you’re more adventurous, you can swim with stingrays over at Stingray City.
  2. Take a tour. There are dozens of ways to see Jamaica. You can take a canopy tour, for example, which will take you across the island through the jungle canopy. There are bike tours, horse tours and any number of other ways to see the sights.
  3. Check out the clubs and restaurants. Whether you want to watch the sunset from Rick’s Café, or whether you want to have some of the best jerk chicken on the island at Scotchies, there are plenty of eateries and drinkeries to visit. You can even take a canoe to go to the Pelican Bar near Jake’s.
  4. Visit Look Out. Look Out is Noel Coward’s famous home. Noel Coward was one of the most famous residents of Jamaica. He built Look Out after his Blue Harbour home became way too crowded with visitors and hangers-on. You can even see the table where Coward hosted the Queen Mother on her visit back in 1965.
  5. Go to the Bob Marley Museum. No visit to Jamaica is complete without a visit to the Bob Marley Museum. Marley, in many ways, completely exemplifies the spirit and life of the island. Make sure you allow enough time to have lunch at Bob’s Café. Here you can enjoy Bob’s favorite meal, Irie Stew. You can see not only Bob’s home, but his recording studio where he made so much of that music that you know and love.
